March 22, 2010 Leave a comment

Most sociologists of 19th century believed Nonwestern nations should copy western type of development and put aside thier own type of living including their cultures, economy and tradition and even language.
Today the above idea is absurd to most sociologysts. They believe native culture, language and economy is very essential for sustainable development. There is a unique way for the progress of each nation. Japan is a good example. Japan recieved western technology and combined it with native tradition.

Islam is a way of life

October 10, 2008 2 comments

Islam is not only about a system of belief, but it is also a way of life. By becoming a Muslim, someone to some extent must experience extraordinary change, especially in her/his lifestyles, habits and attitudes. Change is never be easy for anyone because it requires an extra effort to make it. This what Queen Nicole experienced when she decided to convert to Islam. She did not only change her way of looking at the ultimate goal of this life, i.e. to serve the command of Allah, but also change her lived habits, such as clubbing and drinking, even her job in order to make her life in line with the teachings of Islam. However, life according to Islam is a free choice because human beings are created with brain and mind to make his/her own decision. That why Islam makes rationality as the basic prerequisite in practicing its teachings. Once a decision made, like what Queen has made, she/he must be responsible for all of its consequences.
